Release of O level results
sigh, my partners and i overlooked some details during our practicals and we forgot to obtain some imporant chemical spectrum. i wanted to complete my lab report today but w/o those spectrums, i cant do it at all so im reading my notes in maths lab and also at the same time typing some thots cos im a lil distracted. lol.
anyway today the candidates of 2005 o level took their results today. i was kinda reminded by some familiar calls and words.
let me say wat i have to say first. congratulations to my sister and my cousin. both of u did well and im so proud of you guys. to my cousin, do think carefully where and wat you would like to do in the future k? the road is long ahead so invest a/c to ur interest. :)
to my sister, im so proud of you. though you know you are not as intelligent as other students, you put in alot of effort and you got what you wan today. im really really proud of you. your case is truly 99% of efforts and 1% intelligence. i believe you will go a long way in the futre. go a/c to ur dreams regardless of what people say bcos you and i believe that the ultimate key to life is happiness. :)
to olivia, though you didnt do as well as expected, i, joanna yong am happy for you too! really. cos i saw alot of improvement. do try to apply for republic poly and waste no more time k. you can do it. we shall go back to the student stage and then we can meet up to have coffee and cheesecakes. YAY. and if possible, we can work together in starhub.
all is fine and all. good for those who did well. for those who didnt do well, try again. things are possible if you believe.
and yes i was kinda reminded by them. took my o level results on 2001. i didnt like my class very much then. i didnt bother to go there early. when i got there, i was on time to collect my result slip. i was the last in the row cos of my surname. i took the slip and i walked down the stairways w the slip facing down. i didnt look at it cos i had a nudging feeling tt i would perform awfully bad.
but somehow the bell curve saved me. i got a total aggregrate l1r5 of 12 points. thank goodness i cld continue to stay in sajc. i was happy bcos i managed to stay in a jc and also i proved to all my seniors tt i cld go to a jc even thou i had no cca. dun ask me why i dun have one, im sick of repeating.
12 points. hmm, if u were to ask me, i think i cld have done better. my e maths and a maths were not up to expectations. sigh. my geo too. i shld have been a 9 pointer. SINGLE DIGIT!! my dream. gosh.
wat ifs. yeah too many wat ifs.
i then went ahead with life. went to sajc. thot my passion was chemistry (not too sure if it is still chemistry now) and studied hard for it. even took S paper. dun play play hor, not everyone can take S paper. heh.
life itself is a repeat of many cycles. just when i thot collecting my o levels result slip was yesterday, i had to go back to sajc in 2004 to collect my a level slip. by then, no, i didnt feel close to the class too. (i didnt have a problem, it was my class.)
so yellow waited outside for me while i collected the slip. took the slip from mdm ho and then i stood aside. i thot i was going to be so dead cos i did only 3 qns out of 4 essays. sure die la this time round pls let me pass was all i had in my mind. i guess i have been pretty lucky for 20 years of my life. i always manage to scrap thru everything (even till this very day). i got 3 straight As and got into uni. then happily got into the course (chemistry) which i always thot is something tt i wan.
anyway thinking back now, time really flies. this post isnt really sth thot-provking. but just tt i feel times really flies and here i am, sitting in one of the com labs in nus (which was also my dream uni too in the past and i guess it is still cos there are NO OTHER UNI in singapore tt offer sciences. LOL.) typing this post.
all i really wanna say is do recognise ur strengths and wants and be a happy student and a future happy working adult. :)
