i bought a new pair of sports shoes today. all ready to execute my exercise plan. but i dont have the mood to post the pictures here. bcos today is a emotional-day again. of course sth did trigger this mood of mine.

i took the train home today instead of the company cab. i had several issues to think abt and i realised that the peace that i can get frm the late nite trains would be very much preferred to chatting with talkative cab uncle.

i asked myself if there were a chance for me to enter miss world one day, and if i were to be asked this qns: what would you like to change most abt the world?

i would give my most honest ans. note, i didnt say i would give the most intelligent ans. i merely said i would give my most honest ans. i would say: i wish people would stop making comparisons.

i know it is an impossible dream. that is why i said this is nt an intelligent ans! i said this is my most HONEST ans.

i wish there were no disparity in this world.

the rich & the poor.
the good-looking & the ugly.
the fat & the slim.
the smart & the not-so-smart.
the whites & the blacks.
the straights & the crookeds.
the actives & the passives.
the quiet & the noisy.

everything. almost everything can be compared in this world. i wish people would stop measuring success according to the age that one hits the $1 million mark.

i realised comparisons either make or break someone.

it's true.

i had lotsa thots when i was having my dinner when i got home. strangely, they have disappeared.

to those of you who are reading my blog, thank you for spending time to read my random thots and appreciate my way of thinking. i may not know who u are, but oh well, thanks. i do hope it is useful if u ever need my words here.

it is time for people to change their mindset that having a degree is the way to success. more often than not, people who are successful (the word is rather subjective, interprete it in ur own way) do not have much education. there were many professors who had obtained noble prize in chemistry and they turned out to be students who were expelled during their sch years.

it is time for people to change their mindset that being a gradute means that u cant take up low paying jobs or jobs that are deemed as inferior. everyone in this world plays a part. how can u live in a clean environment when u dont have cleaners to sweep away the fallen leaves or clean the washrooms that you have dirtied? how can u have houses to stay in if there were no construction workers to work under the hot sun?

it is time for people to change their mindset that people have to do whatever that is related to their degree. bcos many dont. there is no direct rship.

it is time for people to change their mindset that having a LV wallet means you are more well off than someone who uses a normal wallet bought from pasar malam. it's the fault of globalisation. it is the fault of commercialisation. having a LV wallet only means that u have given in to the temptation to the need to re-assure urself with external items. it does not place anyone in a higher position or a better light. to those who think u only feel better with branded items, kudos to you. :) i wish u would be happy with ur LV, Armani, Gucci, Guess, Levi & DKNY all ur life.

it is time for people to change their mindset that singers and actors are all about glam and prestige. singers have to attend lessons to learn how to make use of the different singing techniques to obtain the best results for a particular song. they have to dance for mtv and have to train their stamina for their concerts. actors have to memorise their scripts. they have to shoot in the middle of the nite as and when required. they travel here and there with the jetlag and all.

it is time for people to stop comparing themselves with people whom they think are better than them. only for one reason. the comparison can be endless and destructive. i know there will be some of you out there opposing my view bcos comparison is supposed to be like competition and only when there is competition / comparison, people improve. u can choose to take ur own stand and exit my blog. i hope u respect my views when u read my blog. BCOS IT IS ALL ABT ME. i hate people who read my blog and rant on like it is their blog.

we must learn how to appreciate how fortunate we are. does not matter if we are not as pretty as that girl on tv or not as good looking as that guy on tv, pp around us have accepted us for whom we are.

does not matter if we are not as rich as bill gates. the rich always have their own things to worry. like i mention, god is fair. god gives the rich more things to worry. :) we may have own set of problems to worry but it is of different nature. at least we dun have to worry abt whether there is a need to fix the security system outside our house. we dun have to worry about whether our $1m would be better off in the safe box or in the bank. with a roof and 3 meals a day would satisfy me. meals with my loved ones makes me happier. a roof with my favourite colour on the wall is enuff to generate a smile on my face when i go to bed everyday. does not matter if my lamp is bought from the shop downstairs my hse or Da Vinci. so long it serves its purpose, i am more than happy.

then again, many ask me if i am not being ambitious. according to www.dictionary.com, ambitious means 1. having a strong desire for success or achievement; 2. requiring full use of your abilities or resources and/or 3.performed the most challenging task without a mistake.

i stick to the second definition. i exercise my abilities and resources. since im good in chemistry, i do my very best in chemistry. since im the eldest at home, i set the necessary example to my siblings. since my role is a daughter to my parents, i try my very best to do what a daughter should do. noone can say that i am not ambitious. i have my own dreams to fulfil. dont ever comments on my dreams just as u wont wan me to comment on urs.

all i wanna say to you is things have been happening too fast for you. there was no time for a breather. you have too many commitments to fulfil and you feel obliged to fulfil them during ur free time and that leaves u with no time to spend time on ur own except when u are aslp. do let me know what happens tmr.

leave if u have to. u are not a quitter. this could be a painstakingly planned plot where it involves innocent parties. noone has the control except for the mastermind/s. i know u are worried abt the consequences and also worried abt how it may affect ur future. but u have more to worry if things does not turn out to be okay tmr.

i would hope you would heed my advice. haste does not help. there are several issues bugging you now. priortise them and solve them accordingly. sumtimes there are solutions that can solve the more urgent priorities simultaneously. just that you have to work a little harder to figure them out. solutions do not come by easily. otherwise Albert Einstein wouldnt have to try so many times to get tungsten as the material for lightbulb.

forget abt what people say and think. u are not inferior if you stop thinking that you are. to me, to many people, you are such a special individual. you are unique in many of ur ways. though you may not hear compliments everyday, your unique ways are the reasons why we love you.

time to embark on a journey that is not easily or much taken by many people. for those people who are doing what they like, congratulations to them. :) i mean it. for those people who are doing what they dislike, i do not have alot of comments. just that i hope they wake up soon and may they find happiness in their un-discovered interest soon. take a break of a year. join me in the activities that i will be participating. one always need rest before doing sth.

slow and steady would be the motto for you.

have i mentioned that i always admire people who choose to go to marketing institute of singapore, commerce institute of singapore, singapore institute of management and science institute of singapore instead of entering NUS arts and social sciences bcos of the not-so-ideal results? these are the people that we should applaude. they dare to pursue their interest and not blindly tag themselves with the prestige that may come abt with the admission into NUS or NTU.

i bow to all of you who fall into this catergory. i really admire u guys.

i'll talk to you real soon. then we will determine the direction again. trsut me. i will speak up.

my post does not get anywhere. but these are really my thots. random thots thou.

my professor once told me this story. he said he had to try to make this little kid that was under his care open up. he, together with other professors tried to make him participate outdoor activities and it didnt help. they also made him participate in birthday parties organised by other kids of the similar age groups. that didnt help also. they got him a professional pscycologist to guide him to open up. that failed also.

today this kid is a successful lawyer. one of the famous names in the law field. u must be thinking why?

they realised that the kid has aptitude in tennis and they made him teach them tennis. first time, it didnt work bcos the kid thot the adults were making fun of him. second time, the kid slowly picked up the racket to teach the adults after seeing how clumsy they were w the racket and balls. they built up his confidence by discovering his talent and allow him to lead with his talent. they conformed to him rather than making the kid conform to the tested-and-proven methods that were used on him.

we will use this approach.
